Hey all,
For those that attended the 2-Person Clinic last night, I appreciate you allowing us to try something new. As you know, doing training for a group of people with a wide level of officiating experience can be challenging. We understand that there were 1st time officials that may have been overloaded with information last night while there were veterans that may have felt like the content was too basic. Regardless of where you are in your officiating, my hope is that everyone learned something new. Thanks for being patient with us as we tried something a little different. Also, we recorded the clinic. So be on the lookout for video resources that will come out of that training.
Next week, we will go back to our normal meeting format and I’m excited to talk about one of my favorite core values, feedback. Open, honest and timely feedback is essential to good officiating. Where you sit determines what you see and your perspective is valuable. We are going to be GREAT at giving and receiving feedback. In light of this, we’ve put together a small online form to give you a different opportunity to provide the board some feedback. If you’d like to let us know what we can do better, what we need to change, changes that you’ve liked or disliked, then go to https://feedback.abilenebasketballrefs.com.
Also…a couple of other reminders:
TAKE YOUR TESTS. We are past the date that you are allowed to be on the court without passing the Rules Test and 2-Person Mechanics Test with a minimum of 70%. Go on and take your tests asap!
PAY YOUR LOCAL DUES. Local dues are $70 for returning members and $35 for 1st time members. Those need to be paid before November 22.
